Life or death emergency surgery for new rescue dog
If you know me than you know I rarely ask for help. This is Stella. After losing both of her dogs suddenly within months of each other last year my life long friend rescued this sweet girl. She is just 2 years old and as sweet, loving and loyal as can be. Her owners have already fallen madly in love with Stella, and you would as well if you had the chance to meet her. The vet has just discovered that Stella has a collapsed lung and is only functioning with 70% of the remaining lung. She was injured badly at some point in her life before she found her new life long home. For the injury to be this bad, the vet believes she was hit by a car or dropped off a 2 story home. Her diaphragm was perforated and because of that, her stomach, intestines and liver have all traveled into her chest cavity and are crushing her remaining lung, making it insanely difficult for her to breathe. Because the injury is so old, the chances are good that her organs have adhered to her chest cavity and will not be easy to repair.
This girl is loved, cared for, and has so much life left to live. Her owners are willing to do what they need to do to in order to give her a real shot at life, but financially they need help. If you can spare anything to help save this baby girl and give her the life she should have had from the beginning it would be beyond appreciated.
