Life Recovery Funds for Bo Shields After Stroke
Donation protected
You may have heard that Dee Shields’ husband, Bo, suffered a debilitating stroke in November 2022. This has left him with likely permanent complications that will require special care for the foreseeable future.
Bo was moved to a rehab facility last week. He has no use of the left side of his body and new complications arise daily. Bo has a $10,000 deductible. Insurance will only pay for 25 days of long-term care. At the end of that time, they will be required to self-pay for his care or he will be released to Dee’s care at home. This is not a situation she is physically or financially able to handle, so at the very least a paid caregiver will be required.
Dee will need to continue to work to recover the costs of medication, physical therapy and special equipment required to try to extend his life for the coming years.
Dee has worked for Kirby for 23 years, but she is more than an employee, she is family. We all love Dee because of her fierce spirit and willingness to help those in need at work and her personal life. She has been involved in numerous fundraisers over the years just like this one, and now we have the chance to give back.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 for them to pay the long-term care along with medical necessities. You can easily see that $15,000 is just a start to help with what they will need, so any amount you can give to help achieve or surpass this goal will help relieve some of their burdens and will be greatly appreciated.
