Life Savings Recovery

I write with a heavy heart that on the eve of Thanksgiving, I received an email sharing that my life savings had been lost due to the FTX hedge fund scandal. I, unfortunately, had all of my money in this account and was using it to pay off things from this year that included a birth doula training, a 9-month midwifery course, flights to visit family, car repairs, food, gas, and rent when my income couldn't cover it. I am now in a position where I am thousands of dollars in debt, with an insufficient income to pay monthly bills. I currently provide child care and workshops on feminine health and serve doula clients. These streams do not cover my rent &utilities, so I am applying for more jobs to raise extra funds. I also wanted to take a chance and see if people may feel it in their hearts to share with me at this time. For every person that donates, I will write them a personalized poem as a thank you. In the slim case that the funds are recovered, all donations will be immediately refunded. Although I feel shocked and scared, I trust that because this is such a significant life event, it must be woven into my life path. So I am taking a deep breath and counting my blessings. Summary of the scandal - The hedge fund I had my savings in used a well-known & trusted site, FTX, to store funds. They illegally spent customers' money and then collapsed, leaving millions without funds because of their fraudulence. This is comparable to having your money in a bank, the bank committing fraud, closing, and saying, “ope, sorry, your money is gone.” Sadly, this is a big scandal that has taken many by surprise.
