Life without Ian Bannon
Donation protected
My name is Kyndall and Ian is my sweet, kind, and funny brother in law. I’m writing this in hopes to create sufficient funds for all of the bills, hardships, funeral costs, and more my sister Brittany will have to face without her other half here with us.
Some things about Ian. He’s the funniest person you would meet. He’s quick witted. Great at his career. He can do EVERYTHING and succeed at anything he tries out! He puts others before himself with a smile on his face. He has a huge sweet tooth. He loves his dogs, my sister, his family, and of course all of his friends dearly. He is so special.
On Sunday the 24th, It was another day when Ian was riding his motorcycle with some buddies, and if you know Ian, you know this is something he loves and is passionate about. Tragically, someone ran a stop sign and collided with Ian throwing him off his bike 50 feet. He sustained many injuries and was considered a “poly trauma” and the most critical patient on the trauma icu floor. There happened to be medics on the road who were on bikes as well and they pulled up to the scene as it was happening and took action right away, which we are so grateful for. They were able to give Ian breaths, delegate calling 911, the helicopter, and getting Ian what he needed in that moment. The doctors said just 10 minutes later and he would have bled out. Ian is a fighter! He fought through a severe bleed from his iliac artery, he fought through an open book pelvic fracture along with many more broken bones, he fought through 3 chest tubes, he fought through 3 mass blood transfusions in the first 24 hours he was in the hospital, he fought through his surgeries, and for that we have been so hopeful. Everything seemed to be divine timing in helping Ian pull through this. We all knew he had a long road of recovery ahead, but that he could do it. Then we heard the devastating news that he had suddenly developed a massive neurological injury and there was no coming back.
Ian is currently being kept alive by artificial life support and will be saving many lives soon by donating his organs. It will be so sweet to know that Ian is dying as a hero to others, in his unfair death. Ian has a brilliant soul and didn’t need a long time on this earth to touch the lives of many.
As reality is starting to set in, we have realized Brittany and Ian’s family need help from the community. His family has endured a lot of pain in just a year.
Patty, Ian and Colleen’s beloved mother, passed away just 9 months ago at the age of 61, after a 30 year battle with cancer. There aren’t enough words to describe how strong, sweet, and loving she was. Tom: Ian, Colleen, and James’ father, had been staying with Ian and Brittany as his health had been declining, until Ian had to take him to the ER just a day prior to his accident. Tom has been hospitalized since and unable to see his son to say goodbye. It was also just found that Olive, one of Brittany and Ian’s dogs, has tumors that will require a double mastectomy. As you can see, life is utterly overwhelming right now.
Anything to help is deeply and greatly appreciated. If you can’t donate money please donate your prayers and love to the family and friends of Ian who need that deeply right now. Thank you! & until we meet you again Ian. Thank you for 9 years of loving my sweet sis. I know you will be watching over her.
