Life without Leif Erik Vik

Hello, my name is Jacquie, the proud step daughter of Leif Erik Vik.

It's with a pit in my throat and a gaping hole in my heart to share that our dear Leif passed away Saturday, April 6th. We've tried our best to reach out to everyone that was close with him, but this task has proven to be impossible. Leif left an impact on everyone that he crossed paths with. He was the most kind, loving, generous, selfless, absurdly-handsome, creative, devoted father, and funniest souls to ever walk this earth.

While his passing was very sudden and shocking for us all, Leif had been up against a relentless battle with cancer over the last few years. There is no doubt that he fought as hard as anyone has ever fought to never leave us.

Most especially to never leave;

Emily and Kristian - his children, his ultimate purpose in life. They came before everything else.

Lenora - his sister, his cherished best friend.

Harrison & I - his step kids. He loved us so much. We loved him so much.

Our mother - his perfect partner & soulmate. Their love is one I will spend the rest of my life looking for. As Nancy perfectly said, "the way they both looked at each other and treated one another was a model for us all."

I've created this GoFundMe in order to help support Leif's beautiful children and our dear mother while we try to adjust to this new reality. My hope is this can give them additional space to focus solely on healing.

Unfortunately, Leif spent many months in the hospital and ultimately was unable to work most of the last year(s). Between hospital stays, unfinished projects, minimal income etc. there has been a lot of financial burden left on the family.

As their daughter and sister, all I want to do is absorb all of this weight and stress but reality is that I can't. I have been encouraged to humbly accept any help I can. So thank you for your consideration.

We will be celebrating Leif's life properly on what would have been his 60th birthday on July 8th. There will be more details to follow in the coming weeks.

Leif's heart was massive and our Vik/Earls-modern-family will carry it with us everywhere we go.
