Help Heather Get Life-Changing FND Treatment

Hi, my name is Heather. I'm 26, and I have Functional Neurological Disorder. I was diagnosed back in 2016, but in January 2025 I had a bad flair-up with lots of new symptoms, which I'm still struggling to manage. I'm trying to get treatment to help me with my new symptoms, but the NHS treatment is nearly a two-year waiting list for the help I need. I'm trying to raise money so I can get the help I need now through private treatment.

This treatment is so important to me, as I'm pretty much housebound and my symptoms are extremely severe. For those who don't know what FND is, it's when the brain has problems sending and receiving information. For me, this looks like chronic back pain, leg and arm weakness, tremors/spasms and tremor attacks, full body paralysis attacks, brain fog, fatigue, speech and breathing issues. I'm getting the whole shebang at the moment!

This is why getting treatment (sooner than 2 years!) is so important to me. My life is at a standstill; I've had to leave my job, I've had my driving licence taken away from me due to my ill health, I'm unable to do anything or go anywhere alone or for more than two hours and then I'm wiped for days following.

This private treatment would include neuro-physiotherapy, neuro-psychiatry and speech and language therapy from professionals who specialise in FND and FND treatments. This offers me rehabilitation for all areas that are affected by my FND, giving me the best chance of recovery.

I want my independence back, and to be able to better manage my symptoms so I can start living again. Please help me restart my life, get control of my symptoms and stop them from controlling me.
