Lifelong friend Jim Toombs

My name is Jeff Soladay, resident of Greenville, SC, graduate of Indiana University, member of the Delta Chi social fraternity, and former singer in high school musicals, church choir, and mass cantor. I’ve been friends with Jim Toombs of Carmel, IN since 1978 when we met at IU and Delta Chi. Jim and I connected because of our mutual interest in music performance and all things Hoosier.

Jim has recently gone through a difficult health challenge. While recovering, he still has a ways to go to achieve a stable condition. During this time, he and his partner, Lori, are in need of financial help for his medical and routine living expenses.

Jim had always been one to help others. A personal example is when we were expecting our second child. Jim came to visit for a weekend. My wife started labor early one night, so we had to get her to the hospital. Jim stayed overnight alone with our 3 year old daughter, not having children of his own at the time and had met her only once before. That didn’t matter - she was happy when we came home and wanted to play with Jim again. And he couldn’t wait to return for another visit.

Along with John and Cindy Haydock, both IU alumni, and my wife, Joan, I’m asking for any financial support you can provide to him and his family during a challenging time. The funds will be used to cover medical and routine living expenses.
