Lifelong Intravenous Augmentation Therapy

Donation protected
After a tumultuous decade of health struggles, exceeded deductibles, surgeries, and countless visits to specialty doctors with no clear path forward, I've been fortunate enough to uncover the root cause of the many random health issues that have plagued me over the years.  Just yesterday, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition called Alpha Trypsin 1 Deficiency (in addition to general problems with my innate immunity) which will require intravenous treatment at least 1x a month, for the rest of my life.   Surprisingly, a decade to discover this was in fact an oddity--95% of people with Alpha Trypsin 1 deficiency go undiagnosed.

While this diagnosis is a blessing and promises the much-needed relief I've sought after for years--unfortunately is not a guarantee that America's state-of-the-art health insurance options will cover the treatment I desperately need--Whether in the present, or in the many years to come.

The treatment required for this condition not only mitigates frequent infections and provides the essentials to quality of life, it is a paramount of importance to lessen the chance of liver or lung disease that are frequent complications of this condition later on in life if not provided intravenous therapy to supply my blood stream with the enzyme Alpha Trypsin 1 that helps regulate and prevent upper reoccurring upper respiratory infections, emphysema, COPD, & potentially lung disease. Increasing these levels also decreases the chance of liver disease which can also be a grave concern of those who have this illness.

It is for this reason I come to you humbly to ask for your kindness and compassion to help out in any way that you can.

Since I was a young adult, I've been financially independent and responsible for myself in all aspects of life. This includes the burden of exceedingly high health care costs since 2012-to date, spending enough to pay off multiple college tuitions.

I do not like asking for handouts, and generally I’m too prideful to ask for help. However, in the face of adversity and accepting the reality I’m confronted with, I really could use all the support I can get—financially and/or spiritually—in winning the fight my body decided to pick with itself.
