Saving Homeless Ugandan Children

PLEASE READ AND HELP!

This center - an orphanage - provides housing, meals, medical help, music training, education and more to 60+ homeless children. It is not supported through government funding. In past years, they have existed through providing brass and jazz band performances for which the center received money.

But since the international pandemic, these opportunities for performing and receiving income have dwindled to next to none. Please note that there is neither medical insurance, medical services, no educational opportunities such as primary or secondary school, or food and clothing are given in Uganda without payment upfront! Unlike other countries, there is no aid, no food bank, nothing that is charity other than individual donations such as yours.

Just in the last year, their need for support has grown. In addition to food, housing, living basics, clothing, school supplies, etc. all increasing due to inflation, there is the ongoing issue with life-ending diseases, deepening medical needs, and so much more.

My name is John Paul Johnson. I am a citizen of the USA living in Kansas. I can be found on Facebook if you have questions. I am helping this orphanage through this Go Fund Me site. All money received is immediately transferred to the orphanage.

Might I add that many of us here in the United States tend to believe that this is yet another hoax. I assure you that it is not. I speak often with the director and the children via Facebook/Messenger and video chats. I have been in online rehearsals with them, often am with them during meals and instruction time, and have attended performances of their brass band, jazz ensemble, and African music ensembles - all via video chat. As you read messages and articles from there, remember that English is for many there the third language.
