Life-Saving Surgery for Jonathan Griffin

Jonathan (right) is a brother of my co-worker Andrew (left). I have never met him personally but HE NEEDS OUR HELP!
On April 29 Andrew let our team at The Alliance National Office in Colorado Springs know that Jonathan was doubled over and writhing in pain from a lower abdominal issue. Andrew rushed Jonathan to the E.R. and after some tests determined he needed emergency surgery to fix a dangerous twist in his intestines.
It was worse than they expected. We began praying.
Somehow his intestines and colon got moved around and twisted. After surgery, the doctor said it went well but it was worse than he hoped but fixable and good that they did it immediately. It could have been much much worse if they had waited. even a couple of hours.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, Andrew and the family were not able to be near Jonathan as he recovered post-surgery.
However, in the midst of it all, a small gift from God appeared.

Although Jonathan just moved to Colorado in the past few months to live with Andrew and look for work and had little time to meet new people and make friends, one of the young ladies in Andrew's church small group was actually his nurse overnight! So she was sending the family updates and was a familiar face for Jonathan!
Even the recovery was a long and difficult road. Jonathan had to endure many long days of excruciating pain to the point of needing additional tests because of some bizarre symptoms. After a longer than expected hospital stay, Jonathan was released on May 8-- OUR PRAYERS WERE HEARD!
Then, another disappointing turn for the worse.

On May 11 Jonathan had to be taken back to the ER in a lot of pain. Doctors were not sure what was going on. They thought it might be a blockage in his intestines. He was miserable. Pain, vomiting, they put in a tube through his nose to his stomach, more testing, no sleep, pain ... miserable.
After waiting and running hours and hours of test they decided another surgery would be needed on May 14. This second surgery went really well. It was shorter than anticipated because the issue was easier for them to fix than they originally feared and was as minimally invasive as possible. So this is a huge praise! Thanks for praying!
Jonathan is now having to recover AGAIN but it seems this surgery should be much easier for him to recover from than the first, Lord willing.
But this is where YOU can enter this journey of hope and help Jonathan! :)
Jonathan has no health insurance due to not having found work in the short time he has been in Colorado and made harder by the economic shutdowns because of Covid-19. While he has been accepted for state aid, they don't know the full cost of what the two surgeries and two weeks of hospitalization will be-- not to mention not being able to work during the long recovery time.
ANY small gift will help lift his spirits and ease the burden as he recovers.
And, even more importantly, if you are a person of faith, PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR JONATHAN! Pray that he would make a full recovery with no ongoing issues. Thank you my friends.
