Life Saving Cancer Treatment for Mildred

Hello everyone,

We, Stacey, Lydia, and Emily, the daughters of Millie (Mildred) are raising money for our Mother’s treatment. She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer with Brain metastases. The cancer is advanced and chemotherapy would do very little for her prognosis. Therefore, we are seeking more advanced cell therapy treatment to treat her cancer. For those who know her, you understand that asking for assistance, especially financial aid, is far from her comfort zone. However the treatment is £69,390.02 an amount extremely difficult for her and the family to produce and we are asking for those who are able to donate even the smallest amount to help out and do so.

Our mum has dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse. Now she finds herself in need of care and treatment. It's our turn to rally around her in her time of need.

Here's how it all began:

In 2021, during a routine check-up at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, a nodule was discovered on her left lung—a potential sign of cancer. Unfortunately, she wasn't informed of this discovery and was sent home.

Fast forward to early March 2024, after a long shift at work, Mildred began experiencing thunderclap headaches, nausea, and hot flushes. Concerned, we rushed her to the hospital.

After multiple visits and tests, including a brain scan revealing lesions, it was confirmed that she has secondary cancer, with the primary source believed to be a lesion in her lower left lung that metastasised to her brain.

Further tests and biopsies revealed adenocarcinoma of the lungs, a type of cancer typically associated with smokers, though Mildred has never smoked. Doctors suspect a genetic mutation, prompting additional tests to better understand the mutation.

Upon reviewing her medical history, it became apparent that the nodule discovered in 2021 should have been investigated further by the doctors. Hindsight, unfortunately, is a bitter pill to swallow.

So, what's the plan now?

Our mum urgently needs comprehensive treatment to address the cancer in her lung and brain metastasis. After thorough research, we've identified life-enhancing treatments offered in Germany that have shown promising results, potentially extending her prognosis by years and they can start as soon as possible.

The treatment plan includes:

• Trans-Pulmonary Chemoembolisation to target the primary lung tumor.

• Immunotherapy vaccination for sustained remission, fighting cancer cells.

• Targeted Radiotherapy for brain metastasis.

The full treatment costs €81,000 which is £69,390.02. Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by the NHS and come with a hefty price tag.
