Help LifeWise Academy New Lexington

More information: I am raising funds for our local LifeWise Academy in the New Lexington City (Ohio) School District. LifeWise, Bible-based character education, is Released Time Religious Instruction (RTRI). This means public school children may be provided religious instruction during the school day provided it meets the following requirements set forth in a 1952 U.S. Supreme Court decision: 1. Instruction is off school property. 2. It is privately funded. 3. Parental permission is granted. The General Assembly of the State of Ohio also endorsed this in 2014.

This 501 (c)3 charity was launched at one of our elementary schools, Junction City Elementary, in September 2021. The classes are held each Wednesday at the nearby Junction City Community Center. All 380 students at the elementary school are eligible to attend, and approximately 78% of the Junction City Elementary students are studying the life-changing Word of God!

This year, we are expanding LifeWise into New Lexington Elementary on November 1, 2022, while sustaining the Junction City program. Our ultimate goal is to make it available to all of our district's students, K 12. The cost to share this Bible-based education with each child is $240 per student. The cost pays for curriculum and supplies, teacher, and bus driver salaries, insurance, and other administrative costs. The program is free to any child who wishes to attend.

The communities of New Lexington and Junction City, Ohio, are extremely small with few large businesses. This program has been well-received and has already helped to change the lives of our children. While statistics show that only 20% of US students attend church, nearly 90% attend school. It is only logical that if we wish to instill good character traits in our children and produce well-adjusted adults, the best place to learn the Word of God is in our schools!
