Lift Ethan Out of Homelessness so He Can Shine
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and every compassionate individual who sees this,
I am asking for your support for Ethan, a former student of mine who is currently living in a leaky RV in the middle of someone’s pasture far from town. He has no hot water, no transportation, and no privacy as he is there with his parents. He is also extremely food-insecure. I send them some food when I can, but I am not able to support this family on my teacher’s salary. His dad is addicted to meth and Ethan tells me every day that he doesn’t feel safe.
Although this family has been in dire straits since I first met Ethan in 2018, things really spiraled out of control two years ago, right after he graduated from high school when they were evicted from their home. He was feeling so optimistic about his future and was attending community college when they became homeless. He always told me he just needed his chance to shine. Instead, he became trapped in this hopeless situation just as he was trying to launch himself into the adult world. He is so bright; he loves art and philosophy and learning new things. He is also an avid skater as you can see in the video. He has told me that when he's skating, he feels "transcendent."
Ethan always tells me he just wants a chance at a normal life, which he has never had. He has so much potential, but just needs a helping hand to reach it. I would like to raise some money for him so he can get a used car which will allow him to find a job and get a fresh start in life. If possible, we would also like to be able to buy a few basic necessities. Any amount you can share will be deeply appreciated by both of us. If you can’t contribute (or even if you can), we would also be extremely thankful if you would share Ethan’s GoFundMe campaign.
With sincere hope and gratitude,
Celeste
