Lift Every Child Foundation

The purpose of the Lift Every Child Foundation is to promote education among children in Nigeria. As the late Nelson Mandela stated, "Education is the most powerful weapon, which we can use to change the world." Giving a child the chance at a quality education gives that child endless possibilities. We believe that having a concentrated effort in educating the youth will foster positive outcomes for the future of Nigeria. Some of our short term goals are to provide textbooks in basic subjects such as reading, spelling, and mathematics, as well providing school supplies and novels for the children in order to help reinforce the skills they have acquired. 

Our first project will be to provide textbooks (reading, spelling, mathematics) for a first-grade class at the St. Silas Primary School in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. In addition, we hope to provide school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, crayons as well as books for children in grades 1-6. 

My Thoughts: Even at a young age, I was always so fascinated by the history of Nigeria. It amazed me how a country so rich in culture and resources could suffer from poverty. I have always had a natural instinct to help others and I believe that is what my purpose is in life. The key to the future is in the youth's hands. By providing a quality education to at least one child, I hope to inspire them to strive to be whatever they dream, whether it be a doctor, politician, or a creative mind. A child only needs a chance.
