Lift up Coach Mayo!

Donation protected
Most of you know him as Coach, great friend or just mad Max.  I am blessed to be able to call him Dad.  The circumstances around what happened last weekend have left us all puzzled.  His truck that was parked in his gated neighborhood on Hilton Head Island was stolen in the middle of the night.  They have captured images of it leaving his neighborhood and heading down 278.  As most of you know, each day that passes gives authorities less chance of locating his truck.

For those of us that know my dad, that truck is more than a way of transportation.  It is his life and could act as a second home!  To say that he lost some personal items would be an understatement.  There were keepsakes, state title winning rings, visors with his sweat and blood, stopwatches with more hours logged than most of us would see in a lifetime and water bottles specifically written out for each kid.  Coaching is what he lives for.  It’s why he has beat cancer, why he is the most active 76-year-old you know, why he can keep up with my 6-year-old son (who just happens to be named after him) and why the energy he puts into everything he does rubs off on all of us.  He loves his kids and would give his life for them.  The fact that he has been coaching Pro-bono for the last 15 years should say enough about his commitment! It’s not about the fame or the glory for Max.  It’s about influencing these kids to be better athletes and better people….

I say these things in hopes that we can at least help him replace some items that can allow him to continue what he loves.  We may not be able to replace the truck or the keepsakes, but we can help him buy the tools that will make him feel at home again.  The coolers, the tents, the water bottles, the deposit for a new vehicle, stopwatches, a new visor, just to name a few.  May throw in some cheese crackers and a diet coke to make him smile.  Anything would be appreciated.  No gift is too big or too small.  Whether it is on this website or anything you see fit.  I just appreciate you helping my Dad, your friend or your great coach!

Much Love,

Todd Mayo
