Light Up Our Stage: Support San Marcos Community Theater

The Broke Thespian Theatre Company is the premiere nonprofit local theatre organization in San Marcos, Texas. Broke Thespians have been producing beautiful works of theatre at a low price for the San Marcos community for years. For the past 4 years they have produced a free musical in the summer in order to provide free access to the arts for all. They also are headstrong in lifting up new local artists through their new work series. Recently the Broke Thespians Theatre Company has been undergoing some upgrades in order to keep up with advancing technology in the world of theatre. These upgrades also need to match the growth of their community and their expansion under the public eye. One of these projects that is exceptionally important for their growth is an upgraded lighting system. There current lighting system is simply an LED grid that is meant to provide the stage with aesthetic choices and less about providing complete visibility. Without a proper lighting system their summer musical series would go on unseen. There lighting upgrades would include obtaining white wash lighting which will allow audiences this summer to fully experience Shrek the Musical; and many shows to come after! Please help us in supporting the Broke Thespians Theatre Company in producing not only higher quality shows but in training members of the community in lighting arts. Broke Thespians not only aims to provide the community with ways to access art but also to help them personally engage in it!
