Lights For Lions Uganda - Boma Project
Donation protected
Human-Wildlife Conflicts are an almost daily event in the Hamukungu village in Uganda. The Basongola people are confronted with the losses of livestock to predators (lions, hyenas, leopards) invading their bomas at night. Our Lights For Lions Uganda deterrent system has successfully avoided these conflicts, significantly reducing the risk of retaliatory killings by the communities living alongside these predators.
For $350, we can outfit one farmer's boma with flashing lights giving the illusion guards are walking with flashlights. These lights can be seen at a great distance, which no predator will approach. Over the following weeks and months, we will seek financial assistance from fellow wildlife lovers to get all the bomas fitted with lights.
Please visit the Friends of Wildlife Uganda Facebook and Instagram pages to see bomas that have already been outfitted with lights.
