Lighty Strong

My name is Cassi, I am Barry and Brenda Lighty’s daughter-in-law. We have put a lot of thought into this as it’s something we have never done. About 3 years ago Barry was given the news that he had pancreatic cancer. He was given a very short time and the odds were against him . Barry never gave up and continued to fight every single day for himself and his family. He went through extensive treatment ( radiation and chemo along with many surgeries) Never giving up hope or faith that he would beat the odds. About 1 1/2 years ago he was told his cancer went dormant and his tumors became dead tissue. HE BEAT THE ODDS. HE WAS GIVEN MORE TIME!!!! Praise Jesus for that. Early December of 2023 the news came that his cancer was back and no longer dormant . It has grown and metastasized to other parts of his body and very aggressive. Undergoing several stent surgeries and alot of road blocks, sickness and pain he is going to fight once again. He will be undergoing several procedures and chemo has been started for the second time. BARRY IS A FIGHTER HE IS READY TO GIVE HIS ALL AGAIN. Barry has given his life to his wife, kids and grandkids along with his FAVORITE Indianapolis motor speedway where he has served as a yellow shirt for almost 3 decades. Thank you to the Eagles members for being there for Barry and becoming part of his family for all the years he has been a member. They truly are a huge part of his life. Barry served in the Army and was stationed in Oklahoma and Germany for many years. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. Barry is married to his wife Brenda for over 25 years. Between the two they share children Rick, Matt, Josh ,Tony and Jennifer. We are asking anyone that can to share this and help take the future worries off of them financially as they will be traveling to many chemo appts and other procedures. Anything helps to show the love back to Barry and Brenda as that’s exactly what they have done their whole lives. JESUS IS IN CONTROL, HE KNOWS BEST AND HAS OUR ETERNITY SET AT HIS TIME. Never stop believing and give all things to Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. In Jesus name AMEN!!!
