Lil Mama’s Emergency Medical and Surgery Fund

Hello everyone, my name is Chandra and I am fundraising for my sweet mini Bulldog Lil Mama.

On Saturday May 27th, I rushed Lil Mama to the emergency vet for strained and harsh breathing. The vets office said there was a 3-6 hour wait but upon our arrival they took her back to the ICU right away. This was telling of how dire her condition was. The vets explained she was suffering from brachycephalic airway syndrome. A very common issue within smush face dogs and bully breeds. The rising temperatures paired with her already existing issues with breathing cause an episode which resulted in the swelling of her airways. She was placed in an oxygen box and remained there for hours. She has been at the vet since, although her condition has greatly improved she is scheduled to have corrective airway and nostril surgery to hopefully improve her breathing and prevent future events such as this one.

Back Story

Lil Mama is the newest member of our family. Our family rescued her when she had been abandoned in the middle of winter in Minnesota earlier this year. she is estimated to be 4 years old. She was underweight and dirty. Her underside and belly was stained yellow from sitting in her own urine and feces for prolonged periods of time. We could tell she had clearly been used for breeding, and her nipples were still enlarged and swollen. She has a litter semi recently and then was abandoned. She was so sweet and happy to be safe and loved. Just a few months ago she had a many teeth removed due to rot and decay, she was clearly being fed trash and not dog food that caused her teeth to rot. This sweet girl deserve the chance at a happy and loving life. Me and my family so want to give her that chance. This is a huge finacial burden that came upon us suddenly and although we will do everything in our power to ensure Lil Mama gets the best care and medical attention we need help to cover her medical costs. Update: She is out of surgery and recovering in the ICU. Her airways are too inflamed to breathe on her own at the moment so she has a nasal breathing tube and is in a box with supplemental oxygen.
