Lilac Fire - Feed For Animals

Donation protected

Elston Hay & Grain is donating 100 bales of hay to fire displaced horses in San Diego County and are collecting additional funds to increase this donation. We know many are looking to help the hundreds of animals in need, and we are opening this Go Fund Me as an avenue for these donations. Having had experienced similar devastating fires in both 2003 and 2007 we are all too familiar with the horrors of livestock evacuations. In such catastrophic situations, any and all donations make a huge impact.

My name is Alyssa Powell, I am the daughter of the owner of Elston Hay and Grain (Wayne Elston), a feed store in San Diego county. We started the campaign as an avenue to collect funds to put towards a truckload of hay for the displaced horses of the Lilac fire, and the donors are our customers, friends, family, and friends of the friends who have shared the campaign. The first portion of the funds will be used to pay the farmer for the truck and trailer load of hay that we delivered to the Del Mar fairgrounds this Saturday December 9th, and I have uploaded photos on the Go Fund Me page documenting the delivery of the product. The additional funds will be used to purchase vet and other supplies for these horses in need and will be delivered Monday or Tuesday of this week. We will personally be withdrawing the funds in order to pay for the all of product that we have delivered and for the product that we will be delivering in the coming week. We are NOT making ANY profit from the funds collected on this campaign, and we have donated our time to coordinate the arrival of the product.
