Lila’s FHO Surgery & Recovery

Our sweet 11-month-old puppy Lila has been tragically diagnosed with Legg Perthes Disease. We noticed a limp on her back right leg back in mid-July, most of the time she would run with her leg up and she would begin to cry if we moved it a certain way or touched it. After a few visits to the vet, an abundance of pain meds, and x-ray’s we determined that the disease was progressing. Today, we were told that in order to cure this disease, Lila would need an FHO- Femoral Head Ostectomy surgical procedure along with physical therapy in order to restore pain-free mobility. The orthopedic surgeon emphasized that this procedure must be done as soon as possible in order for the surgery to have an effective outcome.

 

We did not foresee that the surgery was going to be necessary this soon and because of this, we were not prepared. Any amount received is very much appreciated. All funds received will go towards her surgery and physical therapy.

 

We love our little baby and it hurts to see her in pain and not see her being her typical playful self. We cannot wait till she is feeling better and back to being the sweet, funny, loving Lila that she is.
