LiLan Li, Monterey Park Shooting Victim

On January 21st, LiLan Li went with friends to attend the festivities at a Lunar New Year celebration in Monterey Park, California. Unfortunately an evening that should have been filled with light, love, and celebration was cut short by a mass shooting that ultimately took her life. The family is devastated by this tragic event due to senseless gun violence and mourns deeply for the loss of our beloved Lilan.

LiLan Li is survived by her only daughter, two beautiful grandchildren, two sisters, and her brother. Much of her immediate family and closest friends are currently in China and are coordinating to fly to California immediately the attend the funeral.

The Li family is kindly asking the community for support during this difficult time. Our family is having a lot of financial difficulty with the funeral, international airfare for family members, lodging expenses, car rentals, and other unforseen expenses. All of the proceeds will go towards these expenses to ensure Lilan gets the funeral she deserves with her closest loved ones present.

A message from her daughter Min Yi:

"大年三十，一顆無情的子彈，讓LILAN LI和獨生女兒天人永隔；讓從出生到大，每天都依偎在外婆懷裏睡著的外孫女失去隔代親的外婆；讓還沒來得及見一面的兩歲外孫再也沒有機會感受到外婆的溫度！ 生活的曲折沒有擊倒過這個堅強樂觀的女人，但是無情的子彈擊倒了她，無常的命運擊倒了她。如今只願她能安息，永遠活在生者的心中! "

"On New Year's Eve a ruthless bullet took LiLan Li from her only daughter. Stolen is the grandmother whose granddaughter fell asleep many a night nestled in between her loving arms! Taken away from us is an opportunity for her grandson to ever feel her love and warmth!

Life's many twists and turns could not knock down my mother who is a pillar of strength and optimism, only the untimely fate of wicked gun violence. May she now rest in peace now and stay forever in the hearts of the living!"
