Donation protected
Lilibeth Cahill is a long awaited, beloved only child. At just two years old Lilibeth has brought great joy and happiness to her parents Adrian and Maria and to her extended family.
In August 2023 Lilibeth was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma- an aggressive childhood cancer. After numerous tests and scans it was determined that Lilibeth had a large tumour in her stomach and two smaller tumours on her head. The cancer had also spread to her bone marrow.
With one sentence the happy, carefree world of Lilibeth and her parents was turned upside down.
Lilibeth started treatment immediately. The treatment consists of chemotherapy, bone marrow extraction and replacement, surgery to remove the stomach tumour, intensive chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy.
The treatment spans 18 months and involves travelling to Crumlin regularly on top of various hospital appointments locally.
Needless to say, Lilibeth’s parents will be there with her every step of the way. In order to do this Maria has had to close her long-established cake making business while Adrian has had to reduce his hours as a stone mason. Being self-employed means there is no access to social welfare payments.
On this day, Lilibeth’s second birthday, we are launching this Go Fund Me page to try to raise funds to help alleviate the financial strain that the family are experiencing as a result of this heart-breaking situation. Any and all donations will be gratefully received and will go towards expenses such as travel to and from Crumlin, fuel, accommodation etc. Anything surplus will be for Lilibeth’s future as the treatment she is receiving has various side affects which will affect her in the future.
We will keep you updated on Lilibeth’s progress and thank each and every person who donates. Thank you.
