Lily McClelland’s medical expenses

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

Recently, my stepdaughter Lily McClelland was admitted to the hospital with severe pneumonia & upper respiratory failure. She is currently in the ICU. The duration of her stay remains uncertain; therefore, she kindly requests your support in helping her cover medical expenses such as treatments, deductibles, & any other related expenses that may arise. She recently relocated from Michigan to Florida, which means that not being close to family has had a significant impact on all of us. Being unable to be there with her has been absolutely heartbreaking in this incredibly difficult time.

If you have taken the time to read this post, we ask that you reach into your heart and help her in any way that you can. You can make a donation, send well wishes, or share this post with those you know & on your social media. Thank you for your time. We appreciate any contributions you choose to make to Lily’s medical expenses.

Here is a message directly from Lily:

“Hi guys, my name is Lily McClelland. I am a 26-year-old ceramic artist and barista from Kalamazoo, Michigan. I just recently moved from Kalamazoo to Bradenton, Florida, to continue pursuing my dreams of being a potter and my life goal of traveling more around the states.

On December 15, I woke up in the middle of the night with severe flu-like symptoms and immediately went to the hospital. From there, I was negative for all tests: Covid, Strep, Flu, etc., and was sent home with nothing and was told, “Just take flu medicine and stay hydrated.” Although my symptoms had somewhat diminished following this visit, I continued experiencing difficulty in breathing, and a month later, on January 15th, I was taken back to the hospital again. After this hospital visit, I started feeling a little better, now that I was on the proper medications, but no one was still able to tell me what exactly was causing me to feel the way I did. Unfortunately, the story doesn’t end there. Four days after being released from the hospital, on January 19th, I was involved in a car crash that resulted in the total loss of my vehicle. This left me unable to commute to and from work, resulting in further financial and emotional hardships. But the story continues, on February 2nd, I again could no longer breathe and was luckily sent to a better hospital. This time I was admitted and stayed in the hospital for 4 days, and they finally diagnosed me with severe pneumonia and upper respiratory failure. During this time, I was finally given the proper treatment for my conditions, and I finally started to somewhat feel like myself again. But about 3 weeks later, I began getting flu-like symptoms again and was rushed to the hospital for low oxygen levels and, again, no longer being able to breathe. I have now been in the hospital since 2/25, and in this time, my pneumonia has spread throughout both lungs with severe inflammation and upper respiratory failure. I was moved to the ICU on 2/28 due to my breathing rapidly declining, and I am now on a high-intensity breathing machine and could possibly be intubated if my breathing doesn’t begin to get better. :( Fingers crossed, it doesn’t get to that point.

This has been a very scary and difficult time for me, but I appreciate all of you for taking the time to read about what's going on and support me through this journey. It truly means the world to me. Thank you. <3”
