Lily's Bucket List

Donation protected

This page has been set up to raise funds for our lovely Lily so that she is able to spend time making special memories with her husband Kristian and her many loved ones.

In December, 2018, at 24 years of age, Lily was diagnosed with a rare and incurable form of cancer. A Neuroendocrine tumour was discovered in her neck and throat area, wrapping around her vocal cords and pushing against her wind pipe.
As this cancer was very aggressive, Lily began chemo and radiation immediately in order to fight this rare form of cancer.
With family by her side and an amazing team of doctors, Lily spent many months fighting for her life in what was a gruelling battle.

In June 2019, Lily underwent scans to check on the progress of her treatment. The treatment had been a success and she was cancer free.
We couldn't believe it, it was a miracle!

Unfortunately, however, this was short lived. In November 2019, Lily underwent another round of tests only to discover that one mass had returned and a new one had shown up. This time in her lungs.
Chemo was again required to fight off this aggressive and rapid growth.

Before commencing treatment, Lily and Kristian decided that they would move their upcoming wedding forward. With the love and support of many family members and friends, Lily and Kristian were married within three weeks. The wedding was magical. So much love, so much happiness for a couple that really only want to spend their days growing old together.

Days after the wedding, Lily began her treatment.
In early March, 2020, Lily underwent further scans to check on the progress of the treatment. Unfortunately, it wasn't the news that we had all desperately hoped for.
The cancer had no response to the treatment and a new mass had formed in Lily's lung, closing over her airways. Doctors felt that they had explored all avenues for treatment.
That following weekend, Lily developed pneumonia and was rushed to hospital after one of her lungs stopped working at full capacity.
Doctors were able to scrape back the tumour in her throat so that it would free up her airways again.

On Monday 9th March 2020, together with her family and wonderful team of doctors, Lily decided to discontinue treatment for her stage 4 cancer.  Lily will now be focusing on palliative care and living her best life with Kristian, her doggos and her loving family and friends.

Through this time, we would like to support Lily and Kristian in helping them spend quality time together, making memories and ticking off the items on Lily's bucket list.

A little can go a long way, so please donate and help this beautiful couple spend their days in happiness without the stress of financial pressures.

Thank you so much.
