Lily's Emergency Hospitalization
Donation protected
Hello friends and family.
I'm starting this fund to raise money for Lily & Lucy's emergency hospital bill.
On the morning of Thursday, November 17th, 2016, I received a heartstopping call. Cecile Aguirre's quiet home in San Bruno, California, had caught fire. Lily and Lucy, their family's beloved dogs, were the only ones home. The fire quickly spread throughout the kitchen and living room. Luckily, their amazing neighbors and firefighters were quick to jump into action. In the chaotic mess, they managed to open the doors to rescue the girls. Lucy ran off in panic, but Lily was unresponsive. Cecile's neighbor and the firemen assisted in administering oxygen and CPCR [commonly known as CPR] and miraculously got Lily's little heart and shallow breathing to start again. She was rushed to the San Bruno Animal Hospital where she was in shock and had a seizure.
The fire was eventually contained but the damage is done. Lucy was finally found in a neighbor's backyard, still in shock and with PTSD from the accident and from being seperated from Lily. Lucy was also taken into the hospital for evaluation. Christen and Cecile are safe.

That night, Lily could not stand, and required constant oxygen & fluid therapy. When Kevin showed me a picture of her, Lily was almost unrecognizable. This once pure-white ball of joy resembled a black cloud. She was transferred to the VCA Neurology specialists in San Francisco for further hospitalization.
Last night, after a brutal day of discussing "what if's," the family was able to see her and have a beaming glimpse of hope. The veterinarians before all had a hesitant tone on recovery. The extent of brain damage is unknown. Yet, Lily was able to recognize the family and display her will to live. Smoke inhalation [oxygen deprivation] is the main cause of fatality in humans and animals during a fire, but Lily managed to pull through beyond expectation. We were afraid of the brain damage, but in a daze, Lily is still trying to show us she is holding on.

We have faith that Lily and her family can recover from this. Their home and pet insurance will not cover her veterinary costs and your contributions will be greatly appreciated. In this season of giving, please have this family in your positive thoughts and prayers. We will keep this page updated.

Who am I? - I'm Kevin Aguirre's girlfriend, Mary. I've worked 6 years as a veterinary technician, saving as many animals as I can. I can't express the frustration I feel sitting idle unable to be there to assist Lily in her veterinary care. I believe in miracles and healing through positive energy so please send them all the positive intentions you can give.
