Founders of ZWF Miami Mario & Maria Tabruae Invite you to be a part of the next stage of Limbani the Chimpanzee that stole the hearts of those across the world from his South Florida base.

The Zoological Wildlife Foundation was founded in 2000 by Mario and Maria Tabraue, a Cuban-American couple who met and fell in love over their shared passion for animals. Mario has more than 20 years of experience working with animals, and he and Maria brought their passion into a foundation that is dedicated to educating the public about rare and endangered animal species in captivity and in the wild. Zoological Wildlife Foundation is a 5-acre zoo in Miami offering intimate guided wildlife tours that include hands-on encounters with a vast variety of our wildlife. Our goal is to educate the public about the danger these animal face in the wild and what can be done to help.

Now for some harsh truths and a very humbling reason, we are looking to partner with you as we have experienced hardships in the years proceeding Covid-19 (frankly the worst in the last two decades since we opened - as we know many others have) and as a fully self-funded park has had to pool both personal cash flow from its owners as well as the senior staff who graciously have stepped up and shown the kind of human spirit with taking pay stops, buying and assisting with daily food and other needs and our most loyal benefactors to continue making the animals and their wellbeing for decades to come of them the priority.

A previous fundraising event before covid and during raised just over $60K and this money was used to keep us alive during the extended covid lockdowns and is the reason we were able to keep operations afloat - so we know we can make magic happen a second time.

We have also been able to supplement and share Limbani's Art Facisination and his passion for painting as another revenue platform to push money back into the business - more on that here: Limbani also known as Chimpcasso

It has only been the help of our loyal clientele who have been able to meet us half-away that has allowed us to continue to do what we started and we are humbly launching this campaign entitled: 'The Inter-Species Project' which will include the development of Limbani's permanent foundation for his enclosure in the park, the necessary infrastructure developments that will build a day to night enrichment area to both stimulate, engage and protect Limbani in case of natural disasters and beyond and at the same time continue to allow the social chimpanzee the opportunity to interact with the animal ambassadors around him.

Costs for Build-Out currently sit at almost $300K so we are kicking off our community fundraiser with a starting goal of half to supplement land, materials, labor, and the countless costs that are associated with a project of this nature.

We are firmly aware that the economy and our own experiences mirror the majority but it's through that community we've stayed making magic for almost two decades and every donation big or small counts.

We are creating the Interspecies Love Project Mural - a concept that will see Limbani's Hand and Feet Prints surrounded by the spirit of those in our community who has been on this journey - showcasing the ultimate connection and spirit in love - but as this is a community effort no amount big or small doesn't give you our greatest appreciation we have founded ZWF and it is rooted int he deepest family ties - so we look forward to welcoming you over.
