LimbBo for people and families with limb differences

Hello my name is Nicole, I’m raising awareness and any money I can for a charity called LimbBo foundation who are a charity for children with limb differences and their families. This is a charity that does amazing work not just for children but also their families. As anyone who knows me will know, my son Oaklen who is 2, was born with all four limb differences. I was told by genetics that what he has is so rare they haven’t yet advanced genetic testing to be able to diagnose what Oaklen has. This means Oaklen is a child with a rare genetic disorder without a name which left me very isolated and no where to turn for support. This is when I was told about LimbBo. Since joining LimbBo I have connected with other families who have gone through similar and have read through some of their children’s achievements which shows how remarkable these children and families are.
I’m raising awareness because before Oaklen I would have never thought of people with limb differences and the struggles them and their families endure as I’m sure many of you wouldn’t either. Oaklen has a difficult journey ahead of him with multiple surgeries in his childhood, requiring to wear specialist shoes to support an unstable ankle and just to be able to walk and run like any other child. As many children, Oaklen is a remarkable little boy who is my true inspiration, he never lets anything get in his way even if he does need that little bit of extra support, he is always smiling even when in hospital and of course he’s never too poorly for a little flirt with the nurses. He is the most purest soul I know!!
One reason I would like to bring limb differences to light is because the world isn’t always the best towards people who are ‘different’ and they might not take into account the struggles as families that we go through and also what our children face. So I hope raising awareness people may understand a little bit more.

I will be doing a sky dive in 9th March 2025 (my biggest fear is heights). I will cover the actual sky dive off my own back so all the money raised will go to LimbBo and for them to be able to continue to do the great work that they do.

Sharing this story helps just as much as a donation so please share as much as possible.
