Limerick GAA Club Cycling Challenge for Pieta

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page in aid of Pieta!
What is the challenge?
Cycle to all 65 GAA clubs in Limerick over 1 weekend. To do this we will be covering over 530km on our bikes during the May Bank Holiday weekend – Friday 30th April to Sunday 2nd May.
Why are we doing it?
More than 400 people take their own lives every year in Ireland. That is more than one loved one being lost every day. There are very few of us who have not been affected by this at some point in our lives. Pieta is a vital service that helps all of those in need who are struggling across the country. They provide services, not only for those who are struggling, but also friends and family members who are worried about a loved one or who have lost a loved one to suicide.
We are taking on this challenge to raise vital funds for Pieta and to also raise awareness of the amazing work Pieta do. Our hope is that challenges such as this can trigger even one conversation or request for help that can change somebody’s life. We hope to bring the message of awareness to both people who are struggling and also those in a position to listen and provide support.
During the recent dark times, the success of Limerick GAA has brought hope and joy into our lives. This success is built on the community spirit that exists across the country. Every local GAA club serves as a reminder of a support structure in our community that many rely on during times of need. With this in mind, we plan to cycle to all 65 clubs in Limerick in one weekend of hard pedalling as a reminder that help and support is never too far away.
Full details of our routes, please see updates.

While we would love to see some socially distant support along the way and look forward to meeting other riders as we go, for safety and logistical reasons we can only accommodate the four main participants for the duration of the event.
