Noah's long road to recovery

Noah is a beautiful 5yr old boy from Monaleen in LImerick. He is a very complex little boy. Noah was born in March 2017 weighing 7lbs3oz, he had a poor suck and wasn't thriving during the first few weeks. After numerous trips to the hospital and nearly loosing him a few times,we found out he has a heart condition and he needed surgery ASAP but due to not thriving this prolonged the surgery. He was transferred to Crumlin where he was diagnosed with severe obstructive Laryngomalacia, scoliosis, chiari Malformation of the brain, severe sleep apnoea and a chromosome deletion.

He had open heart surgery at 4mths old and surgery on his airway. 5years on he still remains a complex little boy with alot of different issues going on and tests pending. He is tube fed and non verbal. Last xmas he was extremely sick with HSP and intussusception and alot of other issues presented during his time in Crumlin from a legion on his hip to bone issues.

Noah is due Brain surgery in the next few weeks and he is on the list for major Spinal surgery which will be every 6mths until his teens as his rods will need to be lengthened. These are serious surgeries for Noah as his is so complex as it is. His recovery will be hard for a boy who loves to run around. As Noah isn't receiving public speech and language we are trying to get to Boston for an intense 6 weeks programme to help with his speech and feeding issues, this year might not suit with surgery but the plan will be next year if he gets through. In the meantime he will need private Speech and Language therapy. Money raised will help Noah with his recovery, get the therapies he needs and make changes at home to suit his needs.

Update....

Noah has since had 4 brain surgeries due to complications after the first one. He remains in hospital recovering and has a form of meningitis so he has a long road of recovery.
