Noah is a 4 year old boy from Monaleen Limerick with a number of health issues. He was born with a serious heart condition, severe laryngomalacia, obstructive sleep apnoea, chromosome deletion, chiari malformation of the brain, severe scoliosis and ongoing gut issues. He had open heart surgery and surgery on his airway. He is peg fed as he aspirates and is casted for scoliosis.
He is due spinal surgery and brain surgery at some stage and these are v risky for Noah givin his complex medical history. He will need lifelong care and alot of therapy. He is also non verbal. Money raised will provide crucial therapy for him to help with feeding and speech, a special bed for him and also we were hoping to get him to Boston for a 6 week intense programme to help with his feeding and speech. Noah would have the use of vital stem therapy there which you can't get anywhere else and this would help encourage the muscles in his throat to help him swallow. He can swallow yoghurt consistency sometimes and fluids. The waiting list to be accepted can take a while but we will keep trying.
Noah vomits numerous times a day when over exerting himself so requires a wheelchair for long distance and for his scoliosis as he wears a body brace.
