My name is Monehra, and I am raising money for my friend Lina, and her family in Gaza. They have decided to evacuate and need financial assistance in doing so.
Here is Lina's message to the world:
I am Lina and I am 19 years old. I am a high school graduate and had beautiful dreams for my family and I. My dream was to study in medical school and my dad's dream for me was to become a doctor. I have many dreams with my family but in Gaza dreams die before they come to reality.
I woke up on the morning of October 7 to war and being terrified. We left our home in Gaza due to the severe Israeli bombardment. Our beautiful home holds our wonderful memories with my family. We miraculously left Gaza and were displaced to my grandfather's place in the Maghazi camp.
One day, a house in the area was targeted, causing a huge explosion, so my father decided for us to flee for the second time. We left my grandfather’s house in intense fear and headed to an UNRWA shelter in Khan Younis with the hope that we would find safety.
We faced many issues at the beginning in Khan Younis. There was no place to stay in a tent, but with patience we found a place but it did not exceed more than 4 meters. Our tent was set up from pieces of wood which did not protect us from the severe cold weather however we adapted despite the lack of food and lack of warmth from the cold winter nights. Having my father by my side made everything easier for me and I felt safer with him there. We lived in our tent for more than a month and a half.
In the beginning of 2024 we hoped to celebrate the New Year like the rest of people of the world, but in Gaza all we hear are frightening explosions, however we still dreamed of better times.
Until 1/24/2024, when the Israeli Occupation Forces surrounded the area with tanks and bulldozers. My father was praying in our tent and then sat with us and suddenly was sniped in the back. We tried saving my father's life but were not successful. That was the last time I saw my father's beautiful face and we could not find a place to bury him so we had to bury him on the side of the road.
We were displaced for a third time, this time without my father, to Deir Al Balah. My siblings and I are still grieving my father's loss and dealing with the struggles of war. I wish I could live in this world with peace and safety and return to my beautiful home with my family and resume life.
Every time I close my eyes at night, I see my father. There will come a day when I realize my father and I's dream of studying in medical school.
In these few lines I have tried describing what happened to us. My story is one of war.
I wish everyone a beautiful life.
Sincerely, Lina.

This is why we are raising money to help Lina and her family escape genocide, and live their dreams. They deserve to live a normal life just like the rest of us.
It currently costs $5000 per person to evacuate Gaza through the Egyptian border.
Our first target goal is $30,000, which once reached we will be able to help Lina's family register 6 family members (including children). However, the long term goal is closer to $100,000 since they are a big family with many children (including as young as 3) as well as elderly family members. For this reason, every single penny that goes towards this fundraiser will help, even if it is $5.
ALL money I receive will be given to Lina's family in Egypt (who I have met and am in direct contact with) to register them to evacuate.
Anything and everything helps, so please donate what you can; utilize your resources! Share widely, donate generously, stay tethered to your heart!
Thank you for all your support.
