Please join our Leadership Duluth team in raising support for Lincoln Park Middle School. The LPMS school pantry strives to provide students with access to fresh, healthy, and easy-to-prepare foods in a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate manner. The pantry has been stocked so far through some small grants and donations. Funds raised will be used to purchase additional food, hygiene products, and household supplies for the pantry.

The school pantry is open to all LPMS students and families, and has been developed in partnership with their students, families, staff, and community partners. LPMS students, including those with lived experience with food insecurity, have been involved as leaders in informing and developing our process with the pantry in a variety of ways including: planning, selecting equipment, recommending items to stock, layout/organization, sharing lived experience, offering recommendations for how to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment, providing feedback, sharing a caring message, and peer referral.

They have had over 700 documented pantry visits so far during the 2021-2022 school year and have met 100% of requests from families. They have served over 100 unique LPMS students during this time (this number does not include students’ family/household members). Visits vary and range from students stopping by to grab an apple or granola bar to bringing extra food home for the weekend to staff delivering food/supplies to families in quarantine. Items/supports requested/provided at each visit vary and have included: food, clothing, masks, winter gear, school supplies, hygiene items, household items, grocery gift cards, delivery, and connection/referral to additional school and community-based resources.
