LincolnBishop's Leukemia Fight

This GoFundMe was created for my very good friend Jessica Vestal. She's a single mother of two, and a military veteran who served in Iraq. In November of 2019, she took her 3 year old son Lincoln to the doctor with a swollen stomach. The family's world was turned upside down with the devastating diagnosis: Stage 4 Leukemia. Lincoln's treatment began immediately. He has been receiving intense chemotherapy at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston for months, and treatment is expected to last at least through November 2021. He stays inpatient for several days at a time while receiving infusions due to the harsh side effects and medical complications.

As a single mother, Jessica works full-time to provide for her two children, 4 year old Lincoln and 10 year old Serenity. Family and friends have stepped in to help with Lincoln's long commutes and hospital stays. But watching Jessica try to fix up her old house by herself, juggle a full-time job with two kids (one of whom is now very ill), and manage the unexpected expenses that come with childhood cancer (gas, commute, lodging, eating on the road, home supplies, lost wages... and we're not even talking about medical bills yet)... I just knew I needed to do more to help. So I created this GoFundMe so our community can help lift up this amazing family, and help allow Jessica to focus on loving and supporting Lincoln through his treatment, rather than having to worry about whether her bills are getting paid this month.

All donations, small or large, seriously make a difference. Even half a tank of gas, or breakfast, is a burden lifted. 100% of donations go directly to Jessica's family during this extremely difficult time. (Some people have asked to do gift cards instead - absolutely!, and thank you! - please just contact me and I'll make sure they get to her.) Lincoln has a long road ahead.
