Linda and Al Ramos

Hi, my name is Christine and I'm fundraising to help my friends Linda and Al Ramos. In the past several months Linda and Al have suffered several catastrophic medical emergencies. Al suffered a stroke and a heart attack three months ago. While he is recovering nicely, his wife Linda sustained a fractured hip and a fracture of the lower femur. As they live in Mexico, they have no insurance to cover these emergencies. When Linda went into surgery for the new hip it was discovered she was extremely anemic. Also, the fracture of the hip was worse than first thought. They had to abort surgery the first time to get her transfused and to obtain the more complex hardware needed to repair her hip. Two days later they were able to complete the surgery. Unfortunately, Al was unable to pay the bill of nearly $50,000 USD in full so the hospital confiscated his passport. Linda has now developed an infection in the hip and must go to a hospital in Guadalajara to be treated. They have absolutely no resources left. Linda and Al give selflessly of themselves helping those in need in our small Mexican community. They would quite literally give you the shirts off their backs. They are both active in the Anglican community Lakeside, teaching English to native Spanish speakers and coordinating the food distribution program for over 40 families in need in our community. All funds raised will be used to defray their medical expenses which at this point seem to be accruing at a rapid and distressing rate.
