Linda Bode's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi, we are Leighann and Lori. We are fundraising for our sweet mother-in-law, Linda Bode. Here is a little information about her recent medical journey as of 7/8/22:
While visiting her oldest son, Bryan, and his family in Canada, Linda experienced back pain and shortness of breath. Bryan took her to the Montreal Heart Institute on July 19, where it was determined that she was suffering from a heart attack. They discovered that she had 100% blockage in two of her arteries and that her mitral valve was severely damaged. Stents were placed to repair the issues caused by the blockages. She also had a considerable amount of fluid around her heart and lungs which needed to be drained. While in the MHI, she experienced arrythmia which they corrected by placing a temporary pacemaker. She also had a temporary intra-aortic balloon pump, which was removed before transferring hospitals. Linda was sedated and intubated during her stay at MHI.
On July 1st, Linda was stable enough for a medical flight to Northwestern Medical Center in Chicago. Since arriving at Northwestern, she has struggled with waking up from the sedation. The temporary pacemaker has been removed. They have run many tests and have ruled out many possibilities but are still trying to figure out why she is not as responsive as they would hope. She remains intubated at this time. The next step is the placement of a tracheotomy so that the breathing tube can be removed.
