Hello Friends and Family,
My sister, Linda has just been diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer. This will be her second go around, as she was diagnosed with breast cancer 20 year ago and beat it! She is overwhelmed to say the least and has a long road ahead with treatment and recovery. Linda is one of the most selfless people I know, always putting everyone's needs before hers. She is the first to volunteer to help those in need. She would give the shirt off her back, if she could. This is admirable, but sometimes when you're caring for others, you forget about yourself. It was only after she was told several times to check on her months long sinus infection did she seek medical help and got the news no one wants to hear, CANCER! Because of the aggressiveness and location of her cancer, she will have to undergo radiation and chemotherapy simultaneously to eradicate all areas which involve her nasal cavity, throat, neck, tongue as well as her lymph nodes. It will be an arduous regimen treating these tumors as they are in precarious areas and the doctors goal is to treat them with minimal damage to the surrounding muscle, tissue, nerves, etc. She is already struggling as the tumor is pressing down on areas causing many symptoms with her breathing, swallowing, smelling, tasting and hearing. She will also have a feeding tube inserted into her stomach for nutritional needs, as she will be unable to use her mouth and throat. We're concerned about the financial toll this will have on Linda and would appreciate any donation, every little bit counts!
