Help Us Honor Linda Demarest – A Beloved Wife, Mother, and Friend

Hello, my name is Kyla, and on behalf of Brian, Jayme, Jawni and their entire family, I want to thank you for taking the time to read Linda's story.

On April 26th, their family experienced a devastating loss. They lost their rock and hero—Linda Demarest. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a woman who brought warmth, laughter, and light to everyone who knew her.

Linda had been battling multiple health issues and was recently diagnosed with dementia. Despite the tireless efforts of her family to keep her safe and advocate for proper care, their pleas were repeatedly overlooked. Each hospital visit ended in disappointment as she was released alone—without proper supervision, her family not being notified of her release, no coat, keys or money and being sent on her way in a cab.

Just 48 hours after her final release - worst nightmare became reality. Linda, disoriented and vulnerable, made her way onto a busy highway late at night. Oncoming could have never preapred for what happened next. She was tragically struck by a vehicle, placed on life support which later - claimed her life.
On April 28th - Linda took her final breath surrounded by her immediate family.

This tragedy could have—and should have—been prevented had the broken healthcare system not failed Linda time and time again.

They are now left not only with unimaginable grief but also the overwhelming burden of unexpected expenses. I am asking for your support to help cover any costs and assist her family during this incredibly difficult time.

Linda will always be remembered for her love of music, a cold Coors and Diet pepsi in her "wo-man cave". Her joy for sunshine, traveling, and swimming in her pool will be how her family remembers her. Linda loved being warm and her favourite way to spend a day was being outside by the pool - nice and toasty. She lived with heart and humor, and we want to honor her memory the way she deserves. Linda held a very special spot in her heart for her grandchildren that she loved unconditionally.

Any amount helps, and even if you're unable to donate, sharing this campaign means the world.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.

As per Linda's wishes - a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
