Linda L Shoemaker

Linda L. Shoemaker, 72, longtime resident of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on 9/2/2023 at home, surrounded by family.

She was born on June 12, 1951 in Providence, RI to George and Barbara (Collins) Landrie. At the age of 19 she moved to Los Angeles, CA to live with her aunt. 3 years later she met and married her soulmate, Ralph L. Shoemaker of Albuquerque, NM.

Linda loved to work. She worked for Treasure Island in the IT department for many years. Prior to that, she also worked at French Lick Resort and Casino in French Lick, IN, the Riviera, the New Frontier, and Harrah’s (previously the Holiday Inn). She would boast about knowing the AS400 better than anyone in town. She would work hard and play harder.

She also loved her family (especially grandkids), her friends and people in general. She would always have a smile on her face and could light up a room with her sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Marianne Almeida. She is survived by her sister Ruby A. Rose of Coventry, RI, her brother George J Landrie of West Warwick, RI, her children, Ralph L. Shoemaker and Laurie Houston (Gregory Houston) of Las Vegas, her grandchildren Ryan Jacob and Mackenzie Shoemaker of Bethlehem, PA and William Bizzle and Michael Houston of Las Vegas, NV.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm September 8, 2023 at Downtown Palm Mortuary 1235 N Main Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Burial will be held at 10:40am at the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City.
