Linda Richardson Memorial Fund

Linda dedicated her life to her family and her love of teaching. She always dreamed of becoming a teacher and she studied diligently to make her dreams reality. She accomplished that when she received her teaching certificate and bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University in 1980. She didn’t stop there, while working full time and raising three young boys, Linda obtained her master's degree in Instructional Technology in 2003 from Houston Baptist University.

As an elementary school teacher, Linda touched the lives of many and always looked for ways to bolster her school through her work as the campus technology lead, providing educational initiatives like robotics clubs, and leading her 5th grade team. She was loved by her students and celebrated by her peers and administrators as a hardworking and jovial central figure of Carlos Coon Elementary, from which she retired, hanging up her lanyard in 2019.

If there was one thing Linda loved more than teaching, it was her family. She made the biggest mums for Clark’s band, attended her son’s academic decathlon competitions, and drove her sons to shows, skate parks, comic book shops, and she enabled her children to have a deep and abiding love and appreciation of God by encouraging their participation in church activities.

Linda was a second mom to all. Her heart was so big, she had room for every one of the many friends that came and went. Anytime that someone struggled, she was there with open arms and a soft place to land. She never had a hard word for anyone but the TEA and she always had a car full of kids coming to and fro between fun and extracurriculars.

If we could have Mountain Dew return her lifelong devotion and investment, we could give Linda the send off she deserves. As it stands, Linda was in and out of the hospital in her last few months and between funeral expenses and her medical debts, the family would request that if you are seeking ways to help support them in their moment of greatest pain, please contribute to her GoFundMe to help provide for her last expenses.

If you never got to give her gas money for that one time she took you and the crew to the skate park, if she taught your children, if you miss her smile at Sunday school, if ever she listened to you vent on your planning period or you think that it's unjust she did not get more retirement time with her grandbabies… Or if you would like to show your disdain for the TEA… please, consider giving just a bit to help alleviate the pain of her passing for her loved ones.

Funeral details to come, we love and cherish everyone who misses Linda, our hearts are breaking with you. Have a good cry and listen to this with your loved ones, she read it to her boys and grandchildren often.
