Linda Vang’s Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
On September 19th, 2021, early Sunday morning, my beautiful wife, Linda Vang, woke up to a very painful and very swollen neck. We quickly left to the ER and waited for our turn to be seen. The doctors determined a chest X-ray would give us a better idea of what was going on. The results came back that she had a large mass covering a large portion of her right lung. Alarmed by the huge mass, the doctor asked us if we wanted to have any of our family members there with us. We both agreed to not alarm both our families and that we should find out first what was exactly going on. The doctor sat down and pulled up the X-ray and said he’s afraid that it’s possible that it is cancer. The doctor requested for a CT scan immediately afterward to further confirm if these suspicions were true or not.
The CT scan came back showing not just one but two tumors, one covering the right lung and the second between her heart and her right lung. The large tumor mass covering her right lung had even caused her right lung to partially collapse. After being seen by an oncologist for a biopsy, the results came back, and she was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell Lymphoma. We were devastated to hear this news, but we knew that we had a fighting chance with chemo.
Linda's chemo treatment consists of one treatment session every 3 weeks, with each session lasting one week. The timeframe is an estimated 7-8 months of chemo therapy. She has started her chemo treatment already and just completed her second treatment session. The treatment has been harsh on her physically, but she has been positive and strong. The road will be long and challenging to both Linda and I and our 4 kids, but we know that we will not give up on this fight.
As Linda, our 4 kids, and I fight this cancer for the next year or so, we are asking the community to come together to help alleviate the financial burden that this will put us in. Any donation will be greatly appreciated as every little bit helps! Even if you cannot donate, please share this and send good vibes so that Linda can beat this once and for all!
