Linda Wright - Not Goodbye.. Just, See you later

Donation protected
My name is Lewis Wright & I am fundraising for my mother, Linda.. First of all , Thank you for taking the time to read & If you can spare a few minutes I would like to share my mother's story however, unfortunately, This story does not contain a happy ending.

My mother has always been a caring woman , Would do anything for you if it was in her power , As crazy as they come & always up for a good time , She used to come out with me & friends all the time , she was such a loose canon , outspoken , stubborn , made as many enemies as she did friends as she wasn't afraid to speak her mind & that's what everyone loves about my mum.

A daughter , Mother , Sister , Soulmate (Shout out to Stan) , Grandmother & more friends than you could shake a stick at , one things for certain , She's not a lady your easily likely to forget.

A lot of you may know my mum from her birthplace in coventry & others from when she was a door woman, working in various venues from Park lane & Soho in Torquay to other areas in Torbay , Although my mum was kind & always up for a good laugh , You knew she had your back & wasn't afraid to get stuck in when things got heated. With that being said, When she wasnt working , I was always worried incase someone pi**ed her off on a night out, as I was the one left to deal with it, as no other members of staff wanted to get on the wrong side of her haha

My mum loved her job , loved meeting new people & making friends , Unfortunately , in 2020 , My mother was no longer able to continue what she loved doing as her mobility became extremely limited as she began to struggle to walk due to fluid retention & pain on her legs.. Unbeknownst to us , this was just the beginning.

As a Diabetes sufferer & complication after complication , my mother soon became house bound, Countless trips to the doctors & hospital trying to find out what was wrong.. In 2021 Linda was taken in for a Triple heart bypass operation to increase the blood flow within the body , This operation changed all of our lives.. During the operation my mother suffered a stroke & in the coming days, She completely lost sight in her left eye.

The operation was predominantly a failure, The heart was still not pumping as it should & now with limited mobility & the operation causing additional disabilities , My mother was no closer to being better, in fact , quite the opposite.

Fast forward to 2023 after countless nights of unimaginable pain & no quality of life , doctors then discovered that my mother was in Stage 5 kidney failure & was given just 3 weeks to live if life changing measures were not put in place. For months now my mother has been relying on dialysis to keep her alive.

After a few months of dialysis , Doctors discovered that due to the restricted blood flow within my mothers leg , It was not getting the nutrients required to keep the tissue alive, It was dying. At a complete shock to us all, Doctors decided that her right leg needed to be amputated above the knee.

If you've read this far, I dont know about you, But I dont know how much of this I could of endured, Nobody should have to deal with any of these incidents & as much as I'm still in shock that I am writing this, The worst is yet to come.

Since my mothers amputation , as you can imagine , An insane amount of adjustment was required and despite everything that she has endured , She kept on pushing , never giving up , The strongest woman I've ever known. In and out of hospital with illness after illness , Test after test , Sleepness night after sleepness night. Still trying to process and come to terms with everything that has happened.

My mum's partner, Stan has been exhausting himself throughout all of this being her full time carer whilst still trying to work & with the cost of living crisis being able to look after my mum , himself & pay bills etc has been almost impossible but somehow has managed to deal with it which has been a complete inspiration & a true testament of will.

The 2nd of November 2023.. A day our lives changed forever, An MRI scan on my mothers stomach has revealed that she has Cancer within her Bile duct.. Inoperable due to my mothers already exhausted body, Doctors have rendered this cancer terminal and to all of our disbelief given my mother just months to live.

As difficult as this is to write & although none of us have fully come to terms with what's happened.. Unfortunately we don't have much time.

I wanted to share Linda's story with you all as a reminder that life is short & we never know what's round the corner , Although we may not have much time together on this earth , We have a chance to use the time that we have to give my mother the send off that she deserves.

Honestly , I don't expect anybody to donate but if you are lucky enough to be able to spare a few pound , This money will go towards making sure my mum can be as comfortable as possible & enjoy her remaining time with friends & family , making as many memories as possible. My mum has decided that she would like her 'Wake' while she is still with us & would like the opportunity to see as many of you as possible and remember all those good times that we're all shared together.

Donations will go towards my mothers send off (which I will be organising with her & your all invited of course , more info to come once we start putting things in place) , amazing memories with friends , family , her beloved grandchildren & burial costs, Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to read this , If you take anything away from this story please remember that life is too short , enjoy the time you have with your loved ones & don't take anything for granted.

All the best & love from us all,
The Wright Family
