Linda Jameson - Victory Fund

This campaign is on behalf of our sweet friend, Linda Jameson. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has begun her journey on the path to being healed. As most of you know, that route may be long and arduous, but Linda has plenty to fight for.

To say that Linda has a lot on her mind these days would be an understatement. Twenty-seven weeks of chemo, and all that comes with it, is more than most of us can comprehend. It seems, to win the battle against cancer one must endure unthinkable side-effects from the treatments along the way:  hair loss, sickness, mood swings, and “chemo brain” - to name a few.

While Linda has an amazing attitude, it’s still hard to not worry about the unknown of what’s to come. You see, Linda is the sole income-earner in her family. Her husband, Rob, is disabled and their daughter, Lily, is a senior in high school. On top of the stress of her diagnosis, and all the medical care needed, the financial stress is overwhelming.

Although Linda has some paid-time-off leave accrued at work, it will not be enough to cover all of her anticipated days out. She has quickly met, but not paid, her $5,000 medical deductible this year. In January, that $5,000 deductible will start all over. Of course, after the deductible, there are still other out-of-pocket medical expenses to pay.

While being responsible for all the added medical expenses, she must also continue to pay all the other mandatory bills and expenses that come with life and a family. This can be very daunting when a regular paycheck is not a guarantee. All of this combined is really too much for one person to bear on their own. This is why we are kindly asking for your help.

Many know about Linda's giving nature first-hand, but I'd like to share just a glimpse of it… Linda is one of those people who was just born to be a “care taker”. She has been taking care of others ever since she was young and still does to this day. Linda was a long-time Girl Scout leader and currently leads the Lago Vista Leos. Both of these roles require an inordinate amount of volunteer time and leadership. She, also, religiously donates platelets to the Blood and Tissue Center every two weeks to help those in dire need. She is one of the most selfless, giving people you will ever meet. In fact, she will probably donate to this campaign, while she’s baking her own get-well cake. ;-)

So, we believe it’s now our turn to take care of Linda. It would be wonderful if we could collectively come together and show her the support she needs and deserves. She is a shining star to so many! We have set a goal of $20,000 to help give Linda and her family some financial relief, while she focuses on her health and healing. Please, join us in contributing whatever you are able. All contributions will make a difference. Financial gifts, as well as positive thoughts and prayers, will be forever appreciated. Thank you so much for your support of this wonderful lady!
