Lindsay Eggers Patten Stroke Rehab

In March of 2018, my wife and mother of our 2yo son suffered a massive stroke. Doctors said it was unlikely she would survive and if she did, she would probably be severely disabled. She was in a coma for almost a month after major brain surgery. Currently, she is able to stand up but not walk without assistance and is cognitive. She has trouble speaking, and cannot find words or finish sentences. Her improvements have been very good at the hospital since she was admitted but she is basically paralyzed on her right side. Unfortunately she is on Medicaid and they will no longer treat her in the hospital's rehabilitation program (Medicaid only pays for 3 weeks of acute rehab). The hospital wishes to discharge her to a subpar nursing home where Medicaid will pay for 1hr of rehab 3 days a week. Not nearly the amount she needs unfortunately. This would be a major setback in her recovery and devastating to our family. My wife needs an aggressive/acute rehab program so she can get back to living her best life and enjoy our son's life together. The Dr's say she needs this type of rehabilitation to continue or her symptoms will stay the same or get worse. While we may not have a choice in which nursing facility she gets discharged to, we can find proper outpatient rehab for her which will help her come home sooner. Any funds raised will go directly to Lindsay's rehabilitation and medical needs.
