Lindsey Abbott’s Dialysis Fund

I’m Alexis and I’m so fortunate to call Lindsey my best friend. Lindsey is in kidney failure and the need to start dialysis is fast approaching.

Her medical story is honestly a roller coaster of failing kidneys, dialysis and transplant surgeries. She was born with a condition called vesicoureteral reflux which caused her kidneys to start failing at only 7 years old. She was received her first kidney transplant at age 10. While a kidney transplant is a life saving blessing, it’s not permanent. Her first transplanted kidney failed and she required dialysis. At 18 she was again given the Gift of Life with another transplant. Her second kidney transplant kept her healthy enough to become the mother of two beautiful girls. In 2016 her second transplant failed. Once again she found herself on dialysis and listed for another transplant. She was blessed with a THIRD kidney transplant in 2018. As I write this I’m realizing her story is a lot to process and can not fathom how she has managed to live through this for over 3 decades. Last week Lindsey’s lab work showed a creatinine of 8.9 (that’s really high). She is again in kidney failure and once again will have to start dialysis to survive.

Lindsey is a HELPER in this world but right now we need to help her. She’s been a rockstar medical assistant, providing some of the most compassionate care I’ve ever seen. She’s helped save lives as an EMT, surgical tech and up until recently has been working part time as a Home Health Aide for disabled individuals. She’s not only a single mother of two girls….she also took on full custody of her nephew last year.

Right now Lindsey needs our help. She is the sole provider of her household but she needs to focus on her health to survive.
