Lindsey Hubley

My beautiful sister-in-law, Lindsey Hubley, and her fiancé, Mike Sampson, gave birth to a perfect little boy, Myles Owen, on March 2, 2017 in Halifax, NS. Upon returning home, Lindsey fell very ill and was rushed to the hospital on March 6, 2017. It was quickly discovered that she was extremely sick and was rushed into surgery. Mike was informed that Lindsey had Necrotizing Fasciitis, more commonly known as “Flesh Eating Disease” and her body was going into severe septic shock. Following surgery Lindsey was put into an induced coma in the intensive care unit where she fought for her life as her body went into multiple organ failure and she went through various surgeries to keep her alive. While we remained as positive as possible as a family, there were times we really didn’t know if she would make it. Lindsey fought an unbelievable fight while in the induced coma and she shocked many by showing just how strong she is. Her will to live for her newborn baby Myles and for Mike is truly undeniable.

Thankfully Lindsey has recently been brought out of the induced coma and is now considered critically stable. She continues to be in the intensive care unit and is fighting every day. She has a long journey ahead of her that will include more surgeries, months of rehabilitation, and adjusting to a new way of life for her, Mike, and sweet Myles. Lindsey and Mike will face many unexpected costs associated with her recovery and we hope to raise whatever we can to help this new family of three make the healing journey that they are about to embark on a tiny bit easier. We are thankful every day that Lindsey is still here and we look forward to the day she can head home to be with both her boys.
