PROTECT THE HOMELESS FROM COVID-19

My name is Emily Cha, and I am a project leader of Linens N Love, a global youth led 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. This campaign is for donating masks and hand sanitizers to the homeless. The donations will go to Union Rescue Mission, Los Angeles’s oldest and largest homeless shelter. Los Angeles has one of the highest COVID and homelessness rates! Although COVID has been terrifying and devastating for us, at least we have a safe home to quarantine in with our families and have access to masks and sanitizers to protect ourselves. But sadly, the homeless cannot say the same. Most homeless shelters are still active and are handing out supplies, but they are not open for the homeless people to sleep or take shelter in due to COVID. Homeless folk don’t have the privilege of staying home to quarantine, having masks and sanitizers, getting tests, and being cared for like we do. The homeless have no where to stay thus they can’t protect themselves from the virus. They have nowhere safe to go. The COVID rates are skyrocketing. The homeless people have such a high COVID mortality rate, it’s devastating.. Homelessness is growing day by day due to this pandemic. Cases and mortality rates are rising among them. They need our help. They are the most vulnerable and most at risk to being infected and losing their lives. Every donation counts. Please donate as much as you can.
