Recovery Fund For Linhares Family Car Accident

Hi, my name is Andrea Linhares. I started this GoFund Me account with my sister to support my parents and grandmother during their recovery and hopefully relieve them from some of the financial struggle after being in a bad car collision crash. They suffered severe injuries after being hit (T-boned) at very high speed by an SUV. They were riding in a small older Mini Cooper. The accident happened on Sept. 30th at around 8pm. My mom was in the passenger side where she took the full force of the collision. My dad was driving and my Grandma was in the back seat. My mom has multiple fractures in her pelvis and multiple fractures in her femur. She broke almost all of her ribs, the front and back. Unfortunately the ribs were fully broken,not cracked, and a piece punctured her left lung. It filled with blood and collapsed. She is suffering a lot, her nurses described her as being in agonizing pain and screaming.. but still being the nicest lady. She had emergency surgery for her femur and pelvic bone. My dad suffered severe injuries as well. He has a bulging fractured disk in his spine, the surgeon will do a procedure they explained to me as “anterior cervical decompression and fusion three to four” The surgeon will take it out and stabilize his spine adding in metal plates and screws. He also has many broken ribs but luckily no internal damage. My grandma was the least hurt thank god she does not have to go under anesthesia or undergo any procedures. She has some nerve damage and broken ribs. To be honest I was avoiding making this account, I don’t know what to do or how to go about everything. My parents will both be out of work for sometime. We are taking it day by day with the support of our loved ones. I still can’t believe this is real and happening, one minute you’re fine and the next you’re not. Don’t take life for granted because it can be taken away in an instant. I’m so grateful that they are all alive. The road to recovery will be long and expensive so I ask you from the bottom of my heart, please help them with whatever you can. Anything helps at this point and I am eternally grateful.
