Links Across Borders - Shawna in Ghana 2024!

Hello, my name is Shawna Sparkes and I am fundraising for the purposes of answering the call in my Soul to volunteer for 4 weeks in Ghana with Links Across Borders.

Links Across Borders is a non-profit organization that co-creates libraries in rural areas of Ghana, West Africa. My goal is to spend 4 weeks in Ghana with this organization to support their mission.

Sylvia Morrison is the founder of Links Across Borders. Her mission has touched my heart on a very deep level, to the point that I cannot ignore this call I feel to contribute. Her vision of creating accessibility to books for children is only one part of the equation; this is not only about the children, it's about their community. It's about encouraging the children to explore their creative nature, and inspiring them to make choices that will benefit their communities for generations to come. If you believe that children are the future, then you understand the long-lasting impact this work will have.

I am seeking donations in support of funding my trip to Ghana so that I may be of service to this organization and contribute to their beautiful vision of the future for these communities. Your donations will not only support my goal of volunteering, but you will also be indirectly involved in shaping the future of these communities. For transparency purposes, I will explain exactly what I need funds for:

Round-trip airfare

$1500-1600 CAD

I will be flying out May 7, 2024 and returning June 6, 2024.

4 weeks Lodging, on-the-ground Transportation, and Food

($2200 CAD)

Health and Prevention

Yellow Fever Vaccine $410

Malaria Pills $400-500

My goal is to raise $5000 CAD. Any leftover funds will automatically be donated to Links Across Borders.
