Linnea’s quality of life while battling cancer

As our dear friend Linnea moves through what best supports her body, mind, soul, and quality of life on this journey with cancer - expenses are ever mounting & relentless. The power of the internet, community & collective are so incredible - small drops fill a bucket, & that bucket can water so much. So whatever contribution, thank you. Here are some words from Linnea

Hello everyone, thank you for being here - I am so grateful for the continued love and support of our incredible community and welcome anyone new who is learning of my journey today.

As you may (or may not) know, after months of concerning symptoms and a medical system that could not offer me the attention and care I needed, I was diagnosed with Stage III cancer back in Winter of 2021. At that time I had just bought a condo with my partner and we were looking forward to growing our family together. Then in 2022 I got those cancer-free results I had been fighting for, got engaged and began planning my wedding, until I fell ill and updated scans showed the cancer had metastasized bringing with it a new set of requirements, challenges, and barriers specifically in terms of accessibility for quality of life.

Fortunately, I had just moved closer to my ancestral lands and there is a lot of medicine here (access to oceans and forests).

However, this has meant travelling every three weeks for treatments which has been entirely taxing on my body, heart, mind and spirit and a tremendous added expense in many ways to my well-being from travel back & forth, proper nourishment, healing practices and the overall cost of living today. Myself, and my family would be unable to live as we have without the ongoing support of our community members, so from the bottom of my heart - thank you.

At first I was reluctant to do a GoFundMe fundraiser with cost of living being high and times being tight for most. My dad showed incredible leadership by being able to provide for others, and my community has shown so much generosity to me. I am learning (through studying Radical Remission) that one of the key factors to healing cancer is “embracing social support” AKA asking for help.

I would love to focus on what matters and truly LIVE and LOVE the way I am meant to. To enjoy more life with my child, partner, family and friends with less worry and barriers & so I reach to you, with the encouragement of some of my best friends, to seek support.

Thank you for every intention, prayer, participation, and piece of encouragement that has gone beyond financial relief to support my spirit in this time. I truly believe everything has been helping, but most of all has given me HOPE that everything will be okay. Gila’kasla
